Some Popular Women Poker Players
Some of you may think that poker is mainly a man's game; however, this is not necessarily true as there are many women in the poker scene throughout the years that have excelled spectacularly in the poker arena. We will be accounting for some of those female poker players here.
Barbara Enright: Miss Enright was able to achieve three World Series of Poker bracelets and won three times. She is also the first woman to win in two ladies' events at the World Series of Poker tournament, and the only woman that was able to make it to the final table at the World Series of Poker main even in the year 1995.
Annie Duke: Miss Duke is known by some greatly known poker champions such as Phil Hellmuth, as the best and one of the most successful all-around poker players today in the women's division.
Jennifer Harman: She is one of the women poker players to be considered as one of the top high stakes players of poker. She has attained so many World Series of Poker gold bracelets and is also a poker instructor at Poker School. She may not be physically intimidating, however, she does strike fear in her many poker opponents when playing at the table, as she is not bluffed that easily and garners a very impressive history in her favor.
Kathy Liebert: Kathy provides and has written a very insightful article on the game of poker in the past. She is, along with Barbara Enright, one of the few women to reach the top twelve Poker Tournament Players during the year 1997 and 1999. She would give advice in poker strategy to women poker aspirants.
Wendeen Eolis: She is the first woman to be able to finish two times in the money of the World Series of Poker. Binion's World Series of Poker has issued a commemorative chip with her name which was awarded to her due to her contribution to "women's milestones" in the World Series of Poker last event. She happens to be the only female to be able to win the event on the European Open No Limit, and has some published writings about her adventures in the poker stage.
Cycalona "Clonie" Gowen: She is fairly new in the scene of international poker, however, she won the twenty five thousand Belagio WPT Championship seat over at the WPT Ladies' Night in the Bycycle casino. She has then finished at tenth place in the World Poker Tour in the Costa Rica Classic. Would you believe that she was formerly a travel agent?
So anyway, these names are only a few of the many female world poker celebrities today that have received various acknowledgements and fame due to their skill in the poker game.
