How To Play Jacks or Better Video Poker

There are many video poker variations that are popular to gamblers. One of the more popular is Jacks or Better Video Poker.

The aim of the game is to come up with a pair of Jacks or higher, to the highest value of a Royal Flush. It is played with a standard 52-deck card. Here, all suits have equal value. Before the game starts, the player has to indicate the amount of bet by clicking on the appropriate button. He has an option to play either one or five coin. It is advisable to play the maximum in order to increase the possible payout.

When the bet has been determined, the player will receive five cards. He then has the option to keep or discard any card of his choosing. To select the card to keep, the player should click on the Hold button. Otherwise, pressing the Draw button will replace the cards he chose to discard. The new set of cards will make up the final hand. The video poker machine will then determine if there is a winning combination. If there is, the winnings will be based from the payout schedule.

One advantage of Jacks or Better Video Poker over other variations is that it allows the player to double his winnings. With this option, the gambler will receive five new cards, one of which is facing up. The player then selects a card from the remaining four cards which are facing down.

In addition, if the selected card is more superior to the first card, the player wins twice the amount of the original bet. If it is the other way around, the player loses the bet. If the two cards have identical values, a tie will ensue. In this case, the player decides whether to go for another double or collect the original bet.

Moreover, this feature of Jacks or Better allows the player to attempt another double or leave the money as it is. However, this option is applicable only when the accumulated winnings are below 2,000 coins. Otherwise, this option is not permitted and the game ends automatically. When the allowed number of coins has been reached, the doubling game terminates, and the main game will resume.

Furthermore, another feature of this video poker variation is that when the player loses his Internet connection, the program continues the game on the player's behalf. The outcome of the game can be viewed by selecting the 'Gamelogs' button the moment the player logs in again.

Likewise, when the player gets disconnected in the thick of the action, he will be asked to complete the game the moment the player logs back in. When the main session has been completed, the player has the prerogative to resume play with the same game or choose another game of his preference.
